In the spirit of enjoying the summer, taking time to yourself and taking time to do things you enjoy, I thought I’d write a little on just that. TIME! I have heard lots and lots of people say things like, “I’ll do it tomorrow.” or, “I’ll look for a new job later.” or, one of my all time favorites is…”He/she knows that’s what I meant…or that’s how I feel.” If this sounds familiar, please read on!!
Life is very good about reminding us that we may not have all the time in the world. These gentle reminders, which are often not so gentle, come in all forms. If we are looking for direction, these signs are easy to spot and we react and get back on track. For many people though, these signals from the universe go un-noticed leaving us destined to re-live the same mistakes and wonder why we have such bad luck. One of the signs that signals us to make changes in our lives is unfortunately, death. Not to be morbid, but it something we all must face sooner or later.
There is a Tim McGraw song that goes something like this: “….and he said
I went sky diving
I went Rocky Mountain climbing
I went 2.7 seconds on a bull named fumanchu
and I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter
and I gave forgiveness I’d been denying
and he said someday I hope you get the chance
to live like you were dying.”
I encourage you all to enjoy the time you have been given, and take notice when those reminders come your way. They are there for a reason. I know sometimes it doesn’t seem possible to leave an unhappy job, or an unfulfilling relationship, or make changes in your diet, or make any sort of change for that matter. I want to stress though…and REALLY stress, to do what makes you happy. When you take care of yourself, and take the time to listen to your inner child, it’s amazing what possibilities open up. I hope you all take the time to enjoy the last month of the summer. Happy Summer!
